The Łaziska Power Plant is the winner of the Polish Quality Award
The Łaziska Power Plant, in its 90th year of operation, became the winner of the 8th edition of the Polish Quality Award in the category of very large organizations.
Several very important facts contributed to this success, most of all the many years of building a modern, effectively managed organization, and implementation of the integrated Management Systems for Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety, and a Social Responsibility System.
In 2006, the Łaziska Power Plant won the Silesian Quality award for the concept of Total Quality Management that had been implemented in the plant. "Thanks to our consistent investment and modernization policy in the years 1989 - 2000, we have converted our plant from being a nuisance to the natural environment to one of the most state of the art, fully environment - friendly power plant," says Klemens Ścierski. "Further modernization works have increased the efficiency of our equipment, lowered our costs, improved the safety of labor and of machinery operation, and decreased to the absolutely lowest level the plant's ecological footprint.
The plant's own capacity in the area of research, science, and technical improvement turned out to be a recipe for the success of the Łaziska Power Plant. The plant conducted over 1800 invention projects, obtained 107 patents for its technical solutions, and implemented over 500 state of the art technologies.
