Management excellence model of the PQA
Mirosław Recha, PhD, Eng., Secretary of the Committee of the Polish Quality Award
Poland's current economic model assumes a special role for a balanced and open market as a regulating factor that adjusts quality standards according to the possibilities and expectations of users.
Discussions on Poland's advantages in the common European market are groundless unless the quality level of products and services that represent Poland in that market is improved.
The pro-quality strategy requires that quality obtain the status of necessity in all economic plans. Implementation of quality management systems (ISO standards) and the concept of Total Quality Management (TQM) are one of the main ways to achieve growth of the Polish economy.
Total Quality Management is a management concept that consists in cooperation of all employees in an organization that places quality in the center of all its activities and gives it the status of a key factor. Such an organization considers customer satisfaction as the basis for a long term success, and strives to assure satisfaction and provide benefits to employees and the society and to improve the quality of life in a material and spiritual sense.
The model of the Polish Quality Award contest gives to those participants who want to improve their management system the great tool of self-assessment in the key areas of its activity.
Participation of organizations that strive to improve their management system in the implementation of the "PQA Management Excellence Model" on different levels is a "certificate" for these organizations. The basic level should be the regional level (Regional Quality Awards), the middle level should be the national level (the Polish Quality Award), and the highest level is their participation in the European Quality Award contest.
