The Lesznowola Commune - a multiple winner

The Lesznowola commune is located in the direct vicinity of Warsaw. Its closeness of the capital city, convenient communication routes, availability of attractive land for investors, and its developed technical and social infrastructure all contribute to Lesznowola's dynamic development.

The commune's area of 69 km2 is inhabited by over 16.5 thousand persons. The number of registered companies is over 3.5 thousand. These smal and large firms form a production and service hub consisting of leading companies, both Polish and foreign.

The Lesznowola commune is one of the leaders with respect to the extension of its zoning plan (98% of the commune's land). The zoning plan assumes a multi-functional development of housing and residencial construction, both single family homes and apartment buildings, of recreational and sport facilities, and of commercial activities that are not harmful to the natural environment.

The local government's investments and significant outlays to develop the technical infrastructure, to lay sewage and water supply lines to land suitable for development, and to improve the road network, have created a good climate for investors and a clean environment for the commune's inhabitants.

The pace of the development of the Lesznowola commune has been acknowledged and appreciated on many occasions. Just in the period of 2004 - 2007 the commune won many awards and certificates issued by external experts. The most important titles are: Community Fair Play, Education Friendly Commune, Perfect Ground, Entrepreneur Friendly Commune, and Friendly Local Government. In May 2007, the Lesznowola commune won the "Poland: Now" Promotional Emblem. In July it scored the fifth place in the "2007 Local Government Ranking", organized by the Rzeczpospolita daily, in the rural commune category. In October 2007, Lesznowola was nominated to the European Entrepreneurship Award and the Golden "Fair Play Community" Statue. In 2002, the mayor of the Lesznowola commune, Maria Jolanta Batycka - Wąsik, received the main award in the "Mayor of the Year 2001" National Contest, and, in December 2005, the "Best Member of Local Government of the Year 2005" in the commune category. In the justification of its decision, the Chapter of the latter contest highlighted the exemplary management of the commune, significant financial and investment ressources acquired by the commune, rich educational, cultural and sports offer for its inhabitants, exceptional involvement in the social and economic life of the local community, introduction of multiple solutions and improvements in the local government offices aimed at raising the standard of service to citizens and local entrepreneurs, and a broad and professional promotion of the commune. n
