EnergiaPro on familiar terms with the nature

Implementation of provisions of two important European directives regarding protection of the natural environment into the Polish legislation has resulted in incorporating Poland into the European environmental network referred to as Natura 2000. The term ’network’ has been used deliberately for Natura 2000 should be perceived as special protection areas - designated in particular countries - taking form of the European biogeographical region.

In Poland, the lists (including the so-called “shadow" list, drawn up by environmental organisations) of special habitat protection areas have been prepared, on the basis of which 172 special protection zones have been established. Additionally, 124 bird protection areas have been designated. Cumulatively, both of the abovementioned types of protection areas cover over 18% of the total area of our country, and the figure is expected to reach approximately 22% in the nearest future.

We also allow for the responsibilities resulting from a long-term streamlining of the environment management system conforming to ISO 14001 standard. The Company operates in the environment precious areas of Dolnośląskie and Opolskie Provinces. That is why EnergiaPro have decided to catalogue all the areas covered with various natural environment protection programmes included in the Company operation regions. Such a catalogue of protected areas as well as the list of facilities situated directly in these areas or in their neighbourhood, drawn up on the basis of the catalogue, would enable preparing a plan for most appropriate initiatives related to protection of the natural environment. This is where EnergiaPro GRUPA TAURON, a distribution Company, can contribute a lot. The Company plan to support protecting the natural environment through monitoring of technical condition of machines and facilities located within special protection areas and through their replacement (if necessary) in order to make them conform to top environmental standards. The abovementioned objective may be achieved by implementing machines of reduced noise level or transformers and other facilities manufactured in line with the latest technology, without the use of electroinsulating oil hazardous to the environment. Also the Company care for protection of birds nesting on the elements of power distribution networks or travelling through routes crossing overhead power lines.

The above paragraphs name just a few examples of objectives the Company would like to achieve within protection of areas displaying exceptional environmental value. EnergiaPro GRUPA TAURON will implement their plan in line with the principle saying that the natural environment was not given to us, only lent by the future generations.
