Interview with Leszek Pawlowski, president of

The scientific-production centre of Professional Electronics Radwar SA is one of the biggest production plant in the country, producing to the needs of the defensive industry. It is known from the first class electronic equipment, used by the army in the country and abroad. The nature of the production forced the company to comply with the strict norms in the field of environmental protection. A broad experience and production possibilities made the company add the new devices for the environment protection to its offer. What will Radwar offer to civilians?
 We decided to use our experience and know-how in the range of producing the electronic devices. We plan to start the production of devices for small and medium size companies, that use renewable energy, for example for the wind and water energetics. The offer covers also the devices used to utilize the wastes, especially dangerous ones, such as medical, chemical or electronic wastes, as well as the filters cleaning the atmosphere. The modern technology allows to break the stereotype that each factory with the chimney contaminates the environment. Whereas all the emitted gases may appear to be cleaner than the outside atmosphere. For example, the clear air can be a final product in incineration plant. However, the people usually associate an incineration with the poisoning gases and stink. Perhaps one should change its name?
Is Radwar already accepting the orders for the new products?
We will introduce the full offer soon. At the moment, we are discussing with the cooperants. We care about experienced and professional partners. I admit there is a big interest in the new devices. We want to sell it not only on the national market, but also on the Asian one, where the awareness of the environmental protection is being developed.
Involving in the environmental protection made Radwan became a member of Ekobiznes Club consisting of pro ecological companies and organizations.
We concluded, that as the company caring about natural environment, we should join this club, particularly that we plan to start the production of pro ecological devices. In the company, we had to install the devices, that are being controlled by services of environmental protection. It mainly concerns galvanizing plant, where metals are covered with the proper coatings, adapter to the work in different climatic conditions, from very low to high temperatures. The coatings include certain chemical compounds harmful for the environment, but thanks to modern technologies they will not be emitted outsider.
However, the company must care not only about the surrounding environment but also about the inside environment, because of delicate and precise devices being produced by it. Is it difficult to achieve the conditions of the exceptional purity?
Todays electronics differs form the one from the previous years. Devices were miniaturized and the processes proceeding in them are much more complicated. Therefore the purity of surroundings and service is one of the priorities of our centre. The most sophisticated devices are produced in two "clean-rooms", the rooms constructed from special materials and equipped with a special atmosphere without possibility of dusting the room. "Clean rooms" look more as an operating room than a production hall. The specialist controls the air purity in each of the rooms. Before the workers enter here, they go through a lock and put the appropriate clothes. Also an air-conditioning works with dedusting. It is an example how it is possible to keep the purity and produce very precise devices.
Why in that case Radwar does not have the ISO 14000 certificate?
Radwar attaches a great importance to the high quality of its products, therefore it got the ISO 9001:2001 certificate and NATO AQAP 2110:2003 certificate. We will receive the ISO 14000 certificate in the nearest future. We applied the proper documents and we wait for the formal audit.
