Personnel schooling in management improving with the help of EFQM Model
EFQM Model - excellence within a grasp
Many Polish managers, especially those, who have the implementation of ISO 9001 or the integrated management system behind them, are searching for tools, which could help in the further improvement of the organization functioning. A good manager is conscious that a quality system or even the integrated management system has not solved all the problems yet and that the organization has still some weaknesses, which shall be removed. It lacks however, a full image of the situation regarding the areas in which the weak sides can be found. Such knowledge probably exists in organization, but it is dispersed and not verbalized, what causes that nothing is just being done with some matters...
Meanwhile, there is a tool, with the help of which, it is possible to get the full, objective and agreed in the group of managers, image of the situation - both with regard to its weak and strong sides as well as the general management level. The tool is EFQM Excellence Model, elaborated by the European Quality Management Foundation and based on the best management practise in Europe and all over the world. The Model shall help the organization to find the answer to the question, what shall be done firstly as well as enable to measure the progress in organization improvement.

Umbrella in terms of the project "Personnel schooling in management improvement by means of EFQM Model" offers:
S1 Schooling - The increase of competitiveness by means of management improvement with the help of EFQM Model
On the schooling, the participants shall learn what EFQM Model is and what profits can be obtained thanks to its implementation. The cost is about 90 PLN for medium and small enterprises and 160 PLN for big enterprises.
S2 Schooling - The implementation of EFQM Model in an enterprise
A two-day schooling, which gives the possibility of getting the practical skills of EFQM Model implementation, including especially, carrying out the organization self-evaluation and planning of the improving activities, as well as answering to the question - how to get the European distinction ? The cost is about 250 PLN for small and medium enterprises and 500 for big enterprises (with the accommodation).
S3 Schooling - The Schooling of European Assessors EFQM
The schooling consists of initial schooling as well as two-day long workshops, during which the participants learn to precisely evaluate the organization according to EFQM methodology. The possibility of getting high qualifications assured with EFQM certificate! The cost is about 430 PLN for small and medium enterprises and 860 PLN for big enterprises (with accommodation).
Terms and places, in which schoolings take place, are stated on the basis of the applications and information about the interest in schoolings received from the enterprises. It is also possible to carry out schoolings intended for companies from the given branch or region of the country. The Model includes all the areas of the organization functioning (that is its potential) as well as all its results, it is illustrated by a drawing.
The Model is the tool for all the managers - starting from TQM supporters (the rule on which the Model is based, these are the rules of Total Quality Management - TQM), up to the managers oriented only to hard business results. To the first ones, the Model shall appear as a practical tool for implementation of TQM rules - whereas in terms of the latter ones, it shall make them aware what kind of elements the achieved results are dependent from and how they shall be analyzed and effectively managed.
The Model users, of whom there are over 30 thousand in Europe, jointly state that the Model helps to improve the management system as well as essentially improve business results. They include such companies as: BMW, British Telecom, Cisco Systems, Daimler-Chrysler, EDF, France Télécom, Nestlé, Nokia, Philips, Renault, Robert Bosch, Siemens, Solvay, Statoil, TNT, Unilever, Volkswagen, Volvo and many more. The efficiency of the Model is also confirmed by examinations, for example, those which were made by the University of Leicester on the sample of 120 companies, showed inter alia, that the sales of the companies which use the Model increased during the period of 5 years for 77% above the increase of sales of the companies from the comparative group.
The companies which use the Model have also the possibility of getting European distinctions, awarded by the EFQM National Partnership Organization in Poland (www.efqm.pl) or they can apply for the most prestigious European award - EFQM Excellence Award that is the European Quality Award (www.efqm.org).
There are, then, many reasons for which it is worth to be interested in EFQM Model. And nowadays it is a great opportunity to do so. The consulting and schooling company Umbrella, which possesses long-term experience in the implementation of EFQM Model and strictly co-operates with European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM), realizes the schooling project devoted for EFQM Model, financed from the European Social Fund (ESF). The co-financing of the participation in the schooling for small and medium enterprises is 80%, whereas for big enterprises it amounts 60%. n
