We want to participate in realization of ambitious plans of infrastructure development in Poland

At a quick pace Poland heads for actuation of resources of European funds for infrastructural investments from the budget 2007-2013. This is a special challenge, because resources will be several times larger and the lead time of the investment will be strictly measured. The conclusion is univocal. The Polish beneficiaries of these resources must plan a correct preparation of infrastructural projects in a large anticipation, emphasizing especially quality of analyses of conceptive, building projects. It is necessary to use optimally the executive potential of firms committed into the preparation of projects. It means the necessity of the enlargement of processing forces of advisory, planner, project or liable for the environmental protection firms. Similar challenges stand before building firms, tradesmen of raw produce and materials or at last government administration.

Extension and modernization of the terminal building and land development of the airport in Saragossa.

It was one of the premises of making by the management SENER, Ingenieria y Sistemas a strategic decision about location of the firm department in Poland. The firm entered into the following 50-year period of the activity starting an activity in Poland.

SENER is a private engineering firm, enclosing an advising and an initiation of systems that's the main goal is delivering to the society and customers of the most effective technological solutions. The firm has been established in 1956, at first it has specialized in shipping and industrial projects, but quickly it diversified its activity, widening the scope of services on the energy production, chemical processes, building industry and cosmic projects.

Representing the sale level of 549 millions EUR reached in the year 2005, SENER employs nowadays 3.500 high qualified specialists, mostly engineers with higher education and technicians (65% engineers, 25% technicians).

Continental Engineering and Architecture Department of the firm SENER realized projects concerning forwarding infrastructure, such as: light rail transit systems and conventional railways (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Lisbon, Rome, Mexico, Medellin, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Algiers, Oran), quick railway (Spain, Portugal, France, Algeria, Italy and United States), roads and ports, municipal transport systems, as well as architectural and hydro engineering designs.

Successes of the firm SENER within the range of the airport infrastructure confirms, among other things, many years' activity on airports in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Guadalajara (Mexico) or in Saragossa.

In Poland SENER performed projects concerning airports. It was committed into a project of increasing of the Frederic Chopin airport. The project enclosed a creation of location plans, electric and fuel fittings, handling system of baggage, safety system, project of a location plan of the terminal and other studies. Within the range of the consortium of Spanish firms, SENER prepared a feasibility study for a new central airport for Poland. The project enclosed an analysis of alternative locations, choice of the best location, conceptive project of the airport infrastructure and economic feasibility analyses.

SENER possesses offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Buenos Aires, Lisbon and Mexico D.F. In 2006 SENER as SENER Limited Liability Company arranged an office also in Warsaw, what constitutes a following step in the international development of the firm. An office in Poland gives SENER a possibility to offer complex services for the central administration, regional and local autonomies and public and private companies.

Nowadays, development plans of forwarding infrastructure are a challenge in the process of modernization of Polish economy, which in the nearest years will have at its disposal an unrepeatable chance to make up leeway in this sphere. SENER possesses established experience in countries with very nearing to Polish circumstances of economic-political situation, what enables the use of the gained know-how.

In the first phase of its activity in Poland, SENER plans to concentrate on the area of infrastructural projects concerning the forwarding area - mostly roads, airports and railways. In the way of participation in public auctions we plan to extend the portfolio of the future projects and to establish cooperation with new partners. A key to understanding of needs of all participants of the infrastructural market is cooperation with the central administration, local autonomies, designing departments or scientific centres.

In the future SENER plans to complete the scope of services by means of projects from the sphere of energy production, process engineering and environmental protection. SENER Ltd., which is not a commercial office of a foreign engineering firm, wishes to realize Polish projects and projects in other countries.

To the extent of recognition of the market, SENER plans to create new offices. For the purpose of obtainment of a better position on a Polish market it foresees taking over of other firms. For many years now SENER sits in on the realization of projects in different countries. The personnel of SENER became accustomed to work outside of Spain and are very interested in transferring of know how into projects in Poland. An example can be here high speed railways.

Poland stands before a historic chance of an actuation of a building plan of a high speed line. Projects initiating modern technologies are very expensive, but their realization will have an enormous meaning for the economic development of Poland. Problems of such countries, as France or Germany with the financing of quick railways prompt to state, that the assurance of a European financing for these projects would be a key trumps in creation of a network of quick railways in Poland. Of course it will be workable in the following budget perspective after the year 2013. The Spanish experiences show however, that the process of the preparation of such investments lasts often over ten years.

Goal of SENER Ltd. is employment of tens workers to the end the year 2008 and the most of them will realize Polish projects.

Being awake to the problem of engineering firms, which tackle with the lack of experienced personnel, SENER began a close cooperation with Polish technical colleges. An example can be Civil Engineering Department of Warsaw Polytechnic, that's students and graduates supplied ranks of SENER in offices in Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona, and in the future they will strengthen the cadre of designing department SENER Ltd. in Warsaw.

Investment programmes of the firm SENER are realized basing on the long-term strategy. An intention of the firm is a stable, gradual development in Poland by means of fission of knowledge and experience (gained under 50-ty years lasting activity in Spain and Europe) with Polish specialists, both in areas of technique, as well as management.
