Manfred Beschel, szef sekcji polskiej ds. polityki regionalnej w Komisji Europejskiej

uznał, że jeśli Polsce uda się rozruszać gospodarczo ścianę wschodnią, będzie to również sukces Brukseli.

– Rozwój wschodniej Polski w najbliższych latach będzie ważnym testem nie tylko dla Polski, ale i dla europejskiej polityki regionalnej. To jeden z najbardziej odstających gospodarczo obszarów Unii, a jednocześnie region, który znajduje się w pierwszej dziesiątce rankingu obejmującego europejskie regiony z największym potencjałem dla rozwoju konkurencyjności. Europejska polityka regionalna otwiera przed wschodnią Polską szansę na wykorzystanie tego potencjału, na skok cywilizacyjny i zdecydowane przyspieszenie tempa rozwoju – powiedział Beschel. nInfrastruktura – Środowisko – Energia

stated that if Poland manages to economically move the east wall, it shall also be the success of Brussels.

The development of east Poland within the nearest years shall be an important test not only for Poland but also for European regional policy. It is one of the most economically detached areas of Union, and at the same time it is the region, which is located in the first ten of the rating including European regions with the biggest potential for competitiveness development. European regional Policy opens for the east Poland the opportunity to use the potential, for a civilization step and strong acceleration of the development pace – said Beschel. n
